Is the SGO 2020 Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer cancelled?
In light of the global emergency of the new coronavirus, COVID-19, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology will not conduct its 2020 Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer, March 28-31, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The health and safety of meeting attendees and the patients in their care is our utmost concern. In recent weeks, countries and institutions have imposed travel bans that prevent attendance by a significant number of attendees, including meeting faculty and SGO leadership, making it impossible to conduct the meeting at this time. SGO is exploring alternatives for delivering the science and education. We understand this decision raises several questions. This document will be updated frequently as information becomes available. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Will I get a full refund for my SGO 2020 Annual Meeting registration?
SGO Annual Meeting registration fees (excluding dues and donations) will be refunded within 30 days of March 9, 2020 to the credit card that was used at the time of registration. Registration fees will also be refunded for the Special Interest Session I: Coding Course Management and Special Interest Session II: Pharmacology. If you paid by check, please contact the Meetings Department with your preferred mailing address for check reimbursement. Check reimbursement will be received within 90 days.
Will SGO cancel my hotel reservation and/or airfare?
Hotel reservations made at one of the SGO Conference Hotels will be cancelled on your behalf. Individuals are responsible for cancelling their own airfare.
How can I cancel my hotel room?
Following the recent announcement that the SGO 2020 Annual Meeting will not be held in Toronto at the end of March, we have instructed OnPeak to cancel all SGO Conference Hotel reservations. If you have any other questions regarding your SGO reservation, you will need to contact your respective hotel directly. If you have not received communication regarding your hotel cancellation, please contact your respective hotel directly with any questions.
Will the SGO Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer be held in person or virtually later this year?
SGO is planning a series of six one-hour webinars this spring to deliver the most impactful science planned for the SGO 2020 Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer. Abstracts will be released Saturday, March 28, at 12:01 a.m. Central Time. Additional science, education and posters are being organized for a possible in-person event later in 2020.
Will my SGO committee meeting be rescheduled?
Staff liaisons will work with committee chairs to schedule conference calls in place of the March meetings.
What will happen to the Annual Meeting abstracts?
All abstracts accepted for the SGO 2020 Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer will be released on Saturday, March 28, at 12:01 a.m. CT.
Will my SGO 2020 dues be refunded?
No. If you have questions about your dues renewal, please contact the Membership Department.
